MISSION
Cinco de Mayo Omaha (CDMO) is a community-based, nonprofit organization whose mission is to present a culturally and historically significant celebration of ethnic diversity. Its format and structure have grown into one of the country’s major festivals offering music, performing arts, family attractions, and culinary choices. While CDMO’s fundamental basis is rooted in Mexican expression, it is re-imagining itself into academic and personal growth training experiences for young people. The event has given over $250,000 in scholarships & internships
This year marks the 100 Anniversary of the Omaha Cinco de Mayo celebration that will take place on historic South 24th Street that has been recognized as one of the top 15 Great Places in America that draws some 250,000 attendees over the 3-day weekend from surrounding states. In 2021, Cinco de Mayo Omaha will feature a virtual conference, live music/entertainment, carnival rides, food, exhibitors, health fair, MISS coronation, games, concerts, banquet, children’s section and parade.
